"Welcome!" from our Club President,
Rick Bogue, ACB, CL

"How it works: We use 3 to 5 evaluators to evaluate each test speaker, then a Master Evaluator will give feedback to each evaluator. Lots of skills are learned here. Come join us. Two of the last three division Evaluation contest winners have been Master Evaluators. Visitors are welcome anytime - no reservations needed."

Join us to become a better speaker and especially a better evaluator! Anyone with an active home club is qualified to apply for membership.

Check back each month to confirm the meeting location date and time. If you are registered on our club roster as a member or guest, click on the "Duty Roster" to reserve yourself a role on the agenda.

The Value of Toastmasters

Communication is perhaps the single most important skill in today's world. Toastmasters is the largest public speaking organization in the world and it is a great place for you to become a more effective communicator. Toastmasters is geared to help you become a better speaker, listener and leader.

There are over 270,000 people in Toastmasters and there are more than 13,000 chapters all over the world. If you are in the United States and Canada, most cities have several clubs.  Chapters consist of about 20 members and during a meeting you learn, practice and teach the art of public speaking - and at our club ESPECIALLY the skill of providing positive, constructive feedback which recognizes a speaker's strengths, as well as the "what" and "how" of opportunity areas the speaker might consider for an even better next speech.

Guests are always welcome at a Toastmasters meetings - that's how we ALL started.

who?In October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, U.S.A., forming a club “to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.” The group took the name “Toastmasters.”

what?Today, Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 270,000 men and women in more than 13,00 clubs in more than 130 countries.

why?Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators and leaders.

how?At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.
